Official Blurb: Madeline Ashton is the most beautiful actress (just ask her) ever to grace the stage and screen. Helen Sharp is the long-suffering author (just ask her) who lives in her shadow. They have always been the best of frenemies…until Madeline steals Helen’s fiancé away. As Helen plots revenge and Madeline clings to her rapidly fading star, their world is suddenly turned upside down by Viola Van Horn, a mysterious woman with a secret that’s to die for. After one sip of Viola’s magical potion, Madeline and Helen begin a new era of life (and death) with their youth and beauty restored…and a grudge to last eternity. Starring Tony Award® nominees Megan Hilty (Wicked, “Smash”), Jennifer Simard (Company, Disaster!), and Christopher Sieber (Spamalot, Company), with Grammy® Award winner Michelle Williams (Destiny’s Child, Chicago), Death Becomes Her, based on the classic 1992 film, is a drop-dead hilarious new musical comedy about friendship, love, and burying the hatchet…again, and again, and again. Life’s a bitch and then you die. Or not!
My take: This show was spectacular. It is exactly what I wanted in a musical. It ticked all my boxes. First it is big and beautiful. The stage is gorgeous and the costumes are to die for. I can not say enough good things about how amazing all the costumes are. You really see the money on stage. But the most amazing thing on this show is the power couple that Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard are. They are at the top of their game and their chemistry is top notch. Their singing is beautiful, their comedic timing is impeccable and their star power is off the roof. I honestly could not choose who i loved most? they were just saw good! As an added bonus the special effects are wonderful. The tricks in this is not an easy thing to replicate on the stage and they do it flawlessly. Get yourself to this show you will not regret it, it will be fun, it will be engaging and it will be magical.
My friends take: Loved the energy, the dance, the costumes. It’s one of those shows that checks all the boxes.

Official Blurb:From legendary songwriter Elton John, composer of The Lion King, Billy Elliot, and Aida, comes TAMMY FAYE, a new Broadway musical the New York Times calls “spectacularly entertaining.” Outrageously funny and deeply moving, TAMMY FAYE follows one woman’s journey from the early days of satellite TV through the tears, trials, and triumphs that made her an icon. Wrapped in Elton John’s deliriously fun score, with lyrics by Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears, book by Olivier Award-winning playwright James Graham, and directed by Olivier Award winner Rupert Goold, TAMMY FAYE shines a light on the generous soul behind the illustrious lashes. Two-time Olivier Award winner Katie Brayben reprises her celebrated performance as Tammy Faye Bakker, starring alongside two-time Tony Award® winner Christian Borle and two-time Tony Award winner Michael Cerveris.
My take: I do not think its a bad show, its just nota great show. First, the best thing for me of this show was going to the Palace after the renovation. I was curious as to how it got done and I was very impressed as to how they did the renovation. As for the show, I had fun, and sometimes that is worthy enough. I have to say I had heard all the Katie Brayben praises from London an she was good but he did not blow me away, she was good not great for me. Christian Borle felt a bit miscast, I also didn’t fully engage. But Michael Cerveris was amazing. I really enjoyed all the sets and costumes and how lovely everything moved. Also surprisingly, the story was quite relevant to our time, and Actually learned more of this time of televangelists, that I didn’t really know much about. Its closing soon, but if you get a good priced ticket you will have an entertaining time, its not great but its enjoyable.
