I started meditating about a year and a half ago, as part of an alternative approach to improve some health troubles I was having and raise my energy levels. I didn’t realize how much it would help or how after a year and a half, I would not only be such an advocate for meditation, but that my spiritual and lifestyle outlook would have shifted so much.
Even though I have been doing it for a while, it still does not come completely natural to me, so I know starting a meditation practice is tough.
I wanted to share some of the things that have aided me in my practice, as well as some great resources. I as going to do it all on one post, but I thinks its better to space it out – especially because the reason for writing today, is that one of me favorite resources starts in 5 days.
Deepak Chopra and the Chopra Center do a series called the 21 day Meditation Challenges. There are many types of meditation, but with all, it is good to start with some guidance until a compeltely independent practice can begin, and this is what these programs are. On November 5th a new Challenge starts called: Path to Abundance. What it truly is is guided mantra and focused meditation.
I have all the recordings of the past two sessions: Free To Love And Mind body Odyssey purchased on my computer and I am a huge fan of these Challanges. However the beauty of donig the challenges live when they start is that
- It is free
- You can do it collectively with other people, facilitating your commitment to stay on course.
It is based on the assumption that to generate a habit of something you need to do it at least 21 days. Once you register, the center will send you a link to a guided meditation every day by email. They are usually around 15 minutes and are divided in two parts, half is a reflection and intention for the day regarding the theme of the challenge, and the rest is music to go into silence and reflection.
This is the official invitation from Chopra:
” join me on november 5th for a three-week, daily guided meditation journey to an authentic abundance consciousness. If you wish to attract more goodness into your life in the form of comfort and ease, peace, joy, love—anything you desire—I encourage you to register now for the all-new Chopra Center 21-Day Meditation Challenge™,Creating Abundance. It’s free to participate and I’ll be your guide each day as we discover and leverage the secrets to attract abundance of all kinds in to our lives through the power of meditation.
