New Cookbooks: Small Plates & Sweet Treats & Jerusalem

I just got two new cookbooks I ordered, and I wanted to share!

Jerusalem by Yotam Ottolenghi and Sami Tamimi

This book is from the owners of Ottolenghi, one of my favorite spots in London and one of the authors of a cookbook that it is a must in my kitchen: Plenty, so I was very exited to receive it!. I havent gotten through it all yet, but there is a great mix of history and recipes and the photographs are great. Huffington Post has a great review, and interview with the authors. Heres an excerpt:

“”Jerusalem” interweaves gorgeous recipes with an introduction into an intense, pulsating city and warm personal stories. Deciding whether you should bring it into the kitchen or keep it by your bedside is a hard choice. But one thing’s for sure, you won’t be able to put it down”

Small Plates and Sweet Treats by Aran Goyoaga

this cookbook is by the woman behind Canelle et Vanille, one of my  favorite food blogs. I love her blog and recipes and this books is a great compliment to any kitchen. She calls her book, ” My family´s journey to gluten-free cooking”, and I think it is a great find for people who eat gluten-free and those who don’t as well. Her book is split in four chapters: Autumn, winter, spring & summer, each with its own small plates and sweet treats. Her food photography, as you can see in her blog, is to die for and this book is a pleasure, not only to cook from but to look at.

The other day I made grapefruit and shrimp risotto from it, and it was a hit! (I attempted the champagne sabayon, that was not a success!) I also made the watermelon and tomato gazpacho! (pictures below)
