930 am: Holiday coffee at Starbucks (Creme Brulee Latte), walking from hotel towards 5th and 57th (With a requisite stop to see the windows). First Tiffany’s
then Bergdorf’s windows, who as you can see if you click on the post it had a fabulous holidays on Ice theme
10:00am: finally the Bendel’s window and then shopping throughout the store to stock up on Xmas presents. The Window was great, a holiday meal of caricatures of great NY characters by Al Hirschfeld’s illustrations. Some of the notable characters, Audrey Hepburn, Sarah Jessica Parker, Whoopi and Liza Minelli. For those of you who have not been to Bendel’s in the last week, they just completely opened the 4th floor and it is fab. apart from the rent the Runway physical store that has been highly publicized (they rent jewelry there as well), they have great additional accessories as well as gifts an a whole sound accessories area. Worth checking out (it was seriously productive for my Xmas shopping)
11:00am: walk down 57th, and some more shopping….
11:45am Early lunch at Maialino, for wonderful gluten free pasta. I had the Garganelli, which is Oxtail Ragu & Pecorino and I highly recommend it.
2:00pm Matinee at the Stephen Sondheim Theater to see Beautiful: The Carole King Musical
5:0opm: Bryant Park to see the Xmas Bank of America Winter Village and ice rink. Some highlights included the store that sells these fabulous bags…
…as well as the Google Winter Wonderlab with its dome:

7:00pm: Dinner at Wallflower. This is a wonderful new West village restaurant, from Bartender Xavier Herit (who used to work at Daniel) and chef Jared Stafford-Hill. We ordered a lot of stuff and it was all fabulous! what did we get: Sea Bass Crudo, Ceviche of Nantucket scallop langoustine and sea urchin, braised beef short ribs, sea scallops and seabass. The highlights however were the drinks. for my first drink I ordered off the menu, a wonderful sparkling concoction of gin and ginger called Tête de Mule, whose presentation was fabulous as you can see from the picture. I then asked the bartender to just make me a nice champagne cocktail – I got back an amazing drink (have no idea what in there but it did not disappoint!)

10:00pm: drinks at Turks & Frogs …
10:00am: breakfast at baby cakes, for a gluten free salted caramel donut (and a scone to go for the plane 🙂 ) with a second cup o coffee at Irvin Farm (the starbucks happen as soon as i got out of bed 😉 )
11:00am: Visit to Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum
12:oopm: Brunch at James in Brooklyn everything we ordered was fabulous. The highlight was the Kale, egg, quinoa and ricotta salad which was amazing and very fresh. Also they have a great blood orange mimosa. Other things we ordered at the table: The Blueberry filled french toast, fried eggs with artichoke hash and cheese espuma, and eggs with duck sausage.
1:30pm: Renegade Craft Fair at the old Williamsburg Savings building, the The historical Skylight One Hanson. Apart from great things that were selling, the highlight was the building, such a beautiful lobby!!!my favorite find: my new vintage headpiece by a great designer called Heart of Gold Designs; def. looking for an event to wear this!
.. .. and then I was off to the Airport
