I wanted to blog today about two small but cool ways to help
BROADWAY FOR ORLANDO
First, I just bought my Broadway for Orlando single in Itunes, and you should rush to it. First reason, it is fabulous and features Broadway stars like Lin-Manuel Miranda, Idina Menzel, Audra McDonald, Bernadette Peters, Whoopi, Sarah Jessica Parker, Jesse Mueller, Gloria Estefan, Carol King,Nathan Lane and many more. Second, and most important, it is to benefit the victims of the Orlando, Florida shooting Pulse nightclub on June 12. All of the proceeds from the sale of the song will benefit the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida. It’s such a strong message and we really just all need a little bit more love
Here’s a video of the amazing song:

AGUA BY ONDA DE MAR
The other charity is one closer to home, here in Colombia. Onda de Mar, a great local swimwear company, has decided to help the Guajira communities who unfortunately have terrible access to potable water. In conjunction with the Red Cross they built a waterhole, and generated a collection (pictured below, called AGUA (Water)) of which 40% of each product will be donated to the project. The styles from Water Collection are available only in Colombian stores and not online, but if you are in Colombia then check them out in these nine stores: Santa Teresa in Cartagena; El Tesoro, Santafé and Oviedo in Medellín; OndadeMar La 93, El Retiro and Gran Estación in Bogota; the Centenario in Cali; and Buenavista in Barranquilla.
Additionally they are also collecting funding to get individual kits to the 110 families in the community surrounding it so that they can have proper water management with filters and carrying materials. Anyone can donate this kits to sponsor a family. The info of the kits and the donations is below:
Here is some coverage of it in the Onda de Mar BLOG in Fuscia magazine and La Republica newspaper
