My trip to London had some new great discoveries and pictures that I wanted to share:
The Alexander McQueen Exhibition at the Victoria & Albert Museum – A must see if you are in London. It is great to see these clothes at close range, He had some incredible artistry, not only the new lines hat he constantly created but the meticulousness of the confection was amazing. The room of headdresses, mostly designed by Phillip Treacy (pictured below) is spectacular!!
The Chelsea in Bloom windows : On Sunday I accompanied my friend to work, she was looking over the Chelsea in Bloom window display at Jo Malone. It was a great work trip as not only did i get to see the great window that Jo Malone had, but i got to walk around the neighborhood and see all the other beautiful works. The theme was Fairy Tales and all of it was beautiful. I think my favorite had to be Kate Spade pink flamingos, which actually won a fair share of prices.
Brunch at Chiltern Firehouse I had wanted to try The Chiltern Firehouse for a while, and it did not disappoint. My lobster omelet was very creative, all the rest of the food was great and it had a great ambiance. Will go back for sure
Gluten Free Tea at the Claridges : After doing some good online research, including great blogs from Around the world in 80 pairs of shoes and Glutopia, i discovered that London has started to be up in the Gluten free game. Which meant that I could enjoy an afternoon tea, one of my favorite things ever! all gluten free. The place of choice: Claridges of course! I have to say it was an amazing experience. The gluten free bread for the sandwiches was definitely one of the best gluten free breads I’ve had, very soft in comparison. The scones also seemed normal, great texture! the pastries were nothing spectacular, but at least they were pretty!!
Ceviche Restaurant Stopped for a quick lunch, and loved it! the scallop tiradito with pomegranate seeds was a highlight!
Loved the Window Displays at Selfridges
One of the best things about London, the beauty everywhere, and that you can take a postcard like picture through your uber window like the one below, and of course the great theatre to see , but i covered that in its own separate post!!
Thanks for sharing my blog – i really love the afternoon tea at Claridge’s; such a shame you didnt enjoy the pastries x
