It is a weird thing to say but I think the Emmys have replaced the Oscars for me. TV is so much at the top of its game that I am getting more invested in it that in the movies, who would have though this 15 years ago? Given that I pretty much always love the majority of nominees and how do people choose I do not know. But here are my thoughts on the ceremony.
Fashion
My favorite trend of the night involved my favorite color combination: pink and red. And of course my favorite dress of the night was Mandy Moore who slayed the trend in Brandon Maxwell.
My Other top 5

The rest of the best:
My Thoughts
- absolutely loved the Fleabag love, I am obsessed with Pheobe Waller Bridge and she deserves all the awards. Also its the last season so they had better give her some love.
- although its a bit disconcerting that it goes vs Maisel love… its like choosing which of your two kids do you love more?
- Billy Porter winning and his speech made me so happy.
- Michelle Williams speech was amazing and so was Alex Bornstein’s (maisel representing!!). A little quote from it in case you didnt see!
- “The next time a woman — and especially a woman of color, because she stands to make 52 cents on the dollar compared to her white male counterpart — tells you what she needs in order to do her job, listen to her, believe her. Because one day, she might stand in front of you and say thank you for allowing her to succeed because of her workplace environment, and not in spite of it.”
- I am not a fan of the hostless awards, i love the banter. But the variety sketch was so bad, maybe it was a good idea.
- Why was Bran and Samwell not on stage for the Game of Thrones cast reunion (i mean he is the King!) and Melisandre was? that is baffling my mind
- conclusion of the night: i need to sit in front of my netflix this week and Watch When they see us.
