Disney goes High Fashion

this is one of the coolest things I have seen in a while. Two of my favorite things, Fashion and Disney, have joined forces, in double quantities. Two awesome stores, Barney and Harrods, have gone Disney for the holidays.

Barneys Electric Holiday

First up Barneys. I hinted at it the last Daily Roundup, but the final product is finally here. This video of Barney’s New York collaboration with Disney for the Holidays (which will me in their windows)  is absolutely awesome, and must be watched! (stick to it throughout the credits to see who the designers of each outfit are!)

Some articles on the window displays are linked here: from Time, The official Barneys site,  Fashionologie, Refinery 29and Yahoo

Harrods

The second Disney High Fashion event of the month! This coincides with the article I posted in a daily Roundup of the Disney princesses Harrods window display! If you didn’t see it the links are here to articles from Vogue, Fashion Foie GrasDaily Telegraph & Daily Mail, with full coverage of the opening of the displays, that included a live Cinderella in her carriage as well as the process of the designs (including sketches from all of the articles). Here are some of my favorites (the princesses included are Cinderella, Snow White, Rapunzel, Tiana, Ariel, Pocahontas, Jasmine, Belle, Aurora, Mulan):

Aurora by Elie Saab
Ariel by Marchesa
Jasmine by Escada

There has actually been a lot of controversy about these windows, about how thin and fashionlike they look. But seriously cant we just enjoy the artistic interpretation?
