Travelling and Dining: Ametsa with Arzak Instruction in London

Whilst in London I decided to check out the new restaurant, Ametsa with Arzak Instruction. this restaurant is a unique collaboration between Elena Arzak – voted Veuve Clicquot World’s Best Female Chef in 2012 – along with her father Juan Mari Arzak, and Mikel Sorazu, Igor Zalakain and Xabier Gutierrez. It is in the Halkin Hotel, in a beautiful dining room, with red and yellow circular waves in the ceiling.

This was an absolutely fabulous dining experience. Every bite had an exquisite blend of flavors and textures.  I think my favorite dish was the atillo de langostinos. IT had a great mix of sweet and salty, and a wonderful mixture of texture between the smoothness of the shrimp and moose and the crispyness of the rice. The edible sheets were amazing, especially the coffee one in the Cordero dish. The Pumpkin and Coffee Ice Cream was a revelation. I was also very impressed with the wine pairings, especially an Organic Spanish White which was spectacular, (And i did not get the name, very unfortunately). The service was stellar, they were all very knowledgeable (And super accommodating to my food allergies!) I am definitely coming back here and most importantly, this just made me more exited to try the original Arzak.

  1. Hi,
This looks like the perfect place to add to my list, I’ve never heard anything like those ice cream flavours! Can’t wait to try the pumpkin and coffee flavour.
Do you have an email I can reach you on?
