Tony Nominations are out!!!! and as expected, it’s looking like they really are going to be the #Hamiltonys! As usual, the nominations, some commentary and my early thoughts. Now a month and a half to get exited for the June 12th Telecast and how wonderful James Corben is going to be (i recommend some carpool karaoke to get in the mood)

My toughts:
- first of all how absolutely fabulous is that Hamilton broke the nominations record? 16 noms beating the Producers and Billy Elliot. The sad thing is that looking at this I don’t tink its going to beat the Producers 12 wins (sadly because I like the show much more than the Producers) but really I doubt it will win Leading Actress and choreography, costumes and set might be trickyquestion of the night – lin manuel or Leslie Odom Jr. Im a little bit torn here but would actually vote for Burr here
- I am sad Ana Villafane wasnt nominated -I would have liked more love for On Your Feet which I loved
- clearly i need to go see Bright Star (should have seen it over American Psycho last weekend) and Shuffle Along that just opened
- School of Rock book did not need to be nominated
- I have to say unlike all the commentary above, Im not at all surprised Jennifer Hudson wasnn’t nominated. I said it during my review, she is just not as impressive on stage as I thought she would be
- Im sad that there wasnt any space for some Allegiance Love
- Although I loved all the best actress in a musical performances I saw (just missing Bright Star) I really hope Cynthia Erivo wins as she is spectacular. However if it is Jessie Mueller for Waitress I will be quite happy too
