Food Picture Diaries: 8 Michelin stars in two days

I’ve been somewhat behind on my posting, and I ended up not posting about my father’s 60th Birthday celebration. As a family that loves wine and food, that was really the only way that was meant to be celebrated! we went with the whole family and did 8 stars in 48 hours in NY, with an added bonus that I think should have a Michelin star, Cosme.

Where did we go and what did we have?

Eleven Madison Park (3 stars) – the menu this time wasnt as impressive as our previous encounter with Eleven Madison Park but it still is one exceptional night out.

Probably my favorite dish of the night

IMG_1427 the asparagus below were cooked in tripe, as pictured above table side. The spectable was grat. It didnt really add anything to the taste of it, but at least it was highly entertaining!IMG_1429IMG_1433

The wine was the highlight of the night – this is what we had:

Some great Restaurant shots:

Next up was Marea (2 stars). They made a beautiful personalized menu for us.

IMG_1490as for the food I went for my favorites, the burrata with lobster and fusilli with braised octupus that are just amazing classics!

.

Finally Le Bernadin (3 stars). Here was the menu they did for us (i loved that it was personalized as well.)

Although Le Bernadin is one of my favorite restaurants in the world, I do not recommend going to their private rooms. The service is way below the par that they have at the restaurant, and although the food is the same, you really get 3 stars because of service (also it’s not like you pay less).  Lets get on with the picture diary of the food:

amouse bouche

KING FISH-CAVIAR King Fish-Osetra Caviar Tartare; Smoked Crème Fraîche Emulsion

IMG_1535

LOBSTER Lacquered Lobster Tail; Herb Spring Roll, Lemongrass Consommé

SEAFOOD TRUFFLE PASTA Scallop, Shrimp, Lobster; Tagliatelle, Black Truffle Emulsion – I didnt have this as it wasnt gluten free. My replacement option was so terrible- overcooked halibut-  I just didnt even bother to take a picture

LANGOUSTINE Seared Langoustine-Foie Gras; Pickled Hon Shimeji, Sauce Perigord

IMG_1537

SALMON Barely Cooked Organic Salmon; Baby Peas and Favas, Mint-Tarragon Emulsion (this was a little too big for all that was to come, it lacked refinement)

IMG_1540

WHITE TUNA-JAPANESE WAGYU Grilled Escolar and Seared Wagyu Beef; Fresh Kimchi Asian Pear, Soy-Citrus Emulsion

CLEMENTINE Coconut Yuzu Sorbet, Clementine Snow
